Default Cleaned up and winterized my suspension today...

(Just some pics...nothing exciting.)

Wanted to clean up my TrackSports a bit as I ran through some mud the other day and the thought of those threads being all nasty made me cringe.

LI-S4 told me about T-9 Boeshield, so I ordered some online and went to work.

I can see myself getting very **** about cleaning these up. Here's a before, nasty pic:

Boeshield. Almost seemed like just a more expensive form of WD40, but thicker.

After, cleaned up springs and threads. I almost sacrificed my toothbrush when I was cleaning and degreasing. Also pictured: some nice T-9 overspray. Oops.

Having a lift in the garage makes me lazy! Before, I was used to swapping these wheels off in the driveway, in the wind and/or rain. It's almost too simple now with heat, radio, etc!

Didn't throw on the winter wheels just yet...will probably do that next weekend. Figured I can make a 2 hour drive home to my folks' for Turkey Day and back before any big snows come. Or so I hope!

Default Thanks!

Ordered and installed through a local Bend-Pak authorized dealer.

Cool thing about it is it lays flat, so we can park on top of it when we're not working on one.

My 4kq was up on it for the last 2 weeks, so we finally buttoned her up to move the others on. Here's my attempt to get all 6 Audis in one shot:

Default Nice, an alternative to Boeshield might be a dupont spray readily available at Lowes.

It's called "DuPont Multi-Use Lubricant with Teflon Fluoropolymer". It's a dry, wax-based spray. What's nice about it is that you can easily build up a layer of the waxy lubricant and protect the threads. I've turned the threads a few times with it in there, and it doesn't add any noticable resistance, yet it prevents crap from getting lodged in the threads.

Anyways, it's $5 and easily found at any lowes.
