How are you planning to get it into the US? It's not imported by AoA.
Plus it has not gone through emissions and crash testing.
You could get one for track use only, I suppose....

Please email me complete details on the process and how you got it here.
Whom did you speak with at Audi AG
Which shipping company
Whom did you speak and/are dealing with at DOT
Whom have you dealt with for clearance from EPA
Whom have you dealt with for crashworthiness at NHTSA<p><a href="http://www.jyoteen.com"><img src="http://www.jyoteen.com/audiworldsig/rips4.gif" border="0"></a>

oops.. sorry. How you intend to get it "accepted" in the US
Is this vehicle going to be an operating street legal car or a race/show car?<p><a href="http://www.jyoteen.com"><img src="http://www.jyoteen.com/audiworldsig/rips4.gif" border="0"></a>

I would be very careful in this transaction...something doesn't sound right.
First thing.....for a car to be street legal, it has to be crash tested...period. This usually takes 3-5 cars to do it. One of the reasons AoA isn't importing the RS4 is because the production run is so small, it wasn't cost effective to destroy up to 5 of them.
Also, because the production run is so small, I have heard that all RS4's scheduled for production or that have been produced have been spoken for. To get one to the US, you have to get one in that shipping container first on the other side of the big pond.

One other thing....if you do get it to the US, it has to go through customs...
If it hasn't been tested for street use, and you don't have the off road use only paperwork done, they crush it.....at least that's what I'm told...
That would be a terrible waste of a good machine.

RS4 Is Not Made By Audi
The Manufacturer of record is quattro GmbH.
It will be comparatively easy to get an RS4 in Germany because the used market is buoyant - owners are reverting to their modified S4s, much more pleasant to drive.
Read all the papers from the various authorities (no, I won't tell you where to look - do your own work, but there is an alternative clause to the "Bill Gates Law") and bring it in with no testing, no problem. In fact if I find myself staying in the States for more than a month next time, I'll bring my car over - less than $2000 from Germany (my comp German Insurance covers the risk)
