Coolant leak question

Can you smell it when driving?
If you can only smell it when you accelerate you have aleak on the Aux water pump again. If you did just replace it, it could be the hoses attached to it. My pump was fine but one of my hoses was all messed up at the seal. The coolant only spilled onto the exhaust when I accelerated. Good luck!

Just got a used B5 S4....what was the cause of this leak? I have a coolant leak coming off oil pan in same location. Is it possible for only the after-run system to leak?

I had the exact same issue..turned out to be the thermostat housing, im not sure if it was coming from the thermostat housing or the thermostat o ring. My 02 has a plastic housing..i didn't want to risk putting it back...so i found an aluminum housing from a 2.8 A4...and a new thermostat obviously.... No more leaks. Hope this helps.
