viscous coupler(sp?)
It uses discs and oil, instead of gears like torsen.
in VC when the difference between 2 sides increases the oil heats up because of friction and locks up to stop the difference of speed between 2 sides.
the torsens senes the torque difference between the 2 sides and apply power to the side with the most torque.
