cracked my hub

cracked my hub
I bought a set of 17" Moda rims from someone off this site over a year ago and finally got around to buying some new tires and getting them mounted at the local tire shop. The seller didn't mention anything about needing spacers on his S4 so I didn't check if they were needed. Bad mistake.
I wasn't watching them mount the front tire but afterwards I inspected their work and saw that the brake caliper was touching the inside of the rim which is not good. I looked further and noticed that they tightened the wheel too much and saw a hairline crack going almost 1/4 of the circumference of the hub (near where the lugs slots are located). I had them put back the stock wheels and drove home slowly knowing that I had better get that disc replaced before next weekend's trek up to Vermont.
1) Does anyone know how much work is involved in replacing a hub? I called the dealer and they said it's a $210.00 part.
2) Does anyone know what size spacers I'll need to mount the new rims?
Thanks for any advice!

you could not see your hub unless your rotor was off. I am guessing it's your rotor.
This is a hard situation. It is not the tire shops job to check for clearence. When you bring a wheel in for a car they think you have already checked to make sure. On the other hand the tech should have nociced. Also makes me wonder if the torqued your wheels or just impacted them.

Re: you could not see your hub unless your rotor was off. I am guessing it's your rotor.
yeah...it was the rotor. i brought it to my friend's shop this afternoon and he replaced the rotor. cost me $160. true...this is just a tire shop, not one of those fancy wheel places that would have done a better job of checking before putting on the wheels. good thing is the tire shop didn't charge me for mounting and balancing 4 tires...probably would have cost me about $80-$100. lesson learned...
