roads with an infant in the back? I know several Vortrag setups have 600/650 or 600/700 for track use but for street use, was wondering if I should go with 450/500 instead of 500/550. Opinions appreciated.

I'm running vortrag's 450/500 kit on my A4. I'm in the city on the weekends. The ride is bone jarring. The west side highway SB (bride section, right after passing the water) is a bumpy as hell w/ the expansion joints but it does pass the GF test On a side note, I'm running on 18" wheels, which are what probably contribute to a good amount of the jarring although I am extremely careful in the city with my suspension and wheels. 500/550 on your car will probably ride something like my car with the 450/500 set-up since your Avant is substantially heavier. I in your case would lean towards the 450/500's. Anything over 500lbs rates will keep your head moving around on commutes - highways included. The trade off is superior handling. These are probably the best springs I've owned so far.
