Default Damn, I just picked up my car from the dealership for service and while parked in my garage I.....

noticed a couple of deep scratches on the roof.

I got the complimentary dealer car wash, which is nice, but I prefer to wash the car myself.

Anyway, I just parked the car in the garage and noticed three rather deep sratches approximately 1/2" - 1" located at the roof area right next to the dranaige channel above the drivers side rear door (right at the spot where the roof meets the rear windshield weather-stripping). In addition, there are about three lighter scratches.

I have flourescent lighting in my garage and if anybody knows, flourescent lighting really shows the scracthes.

Anyway, I have just applied a layer of Meguairs Scratch X on the scratches and awaiting the material to dry.

I'm complaining tommorrow. I doubt if I get anything out of that though. I'm sure that they will say to me that the stratches were already there.

Grrrrrrrrr...

What would you do?
F&^*!

Default Just polished off the Stratch X and the stratches are still there. I just checked the remainder....

of the car and there are no additional stratches.

Isn't it disheartening to see all the minor straches on the body of a 3.5 year old car?

As for the area of the stratches, I just get so mad looking at them. Overall I'm pretty **** about the appearance of the car, so this would probably irk me more than the average car owner.

Let me say it for the record.

Restitution shall be made.

One way or another!

Default That is sad to hear. I guess all the Audi dealerships use the same type of crappy towels or........

sponges.

If you don't mind me asking, what dealer did you buy your car from?

Default Do you live in a cold climate? If yes, i know what those are-- - ->

My wifes A4 came back from the dealer with the same scratches...

The car wash has those brushes that they use that pump foam out of the head...the heads are rubber coated but metal.

I tracked the scratches to the brush head...Dealer & car wash did nothing to help...

Default I'd be willing to bet $$.....

that it's either from tools the tech layed up there, or a part of your interior they took out and laid up on the roof.

I've seen techs at my dealer do this with multiple other cars that were in for service. I told the S.A. if anyone did that on my car they'd be shot. I also made them make a note in their computer that my car is never to be washed there.

I'm picky enough, having a black car makes me irritatingly ****.
