Dealer says "thumping" noise is normal?
Had my 01 S4 in for service last week, at which time they rotated the tires. Subsequently, the Front Right tire now "thumps" at highway speeds.
I quickly elimanated engine noise by dropping it in neutral. It's definately not ambient road noise...............Dealer says it's normal to hear this sort of thumping if the tire has a slight irregularity, i.e. a high or low spot, and that it "might" go away with time. Dealer indicated that I may not have noticed this if the tire was in the rear prior to rotation.
Anyone here experience the same/similar?

I had the same thing on my A6
The tires were shot and I had to pursue warranty issue which was resolved only after I started calling Goodyear. My sound was more like a wobbling. The dealer telling you that it is normal, I would have to agree with Innovator on this, as it is BS. What tires do you have on the car?

Thats not good...
If there is an irregularity in your tire, it is only going to get worse. it could be that they didnt check the balance of your tires. a weight may have come off while they were messing around with your wheels or recently while driving and now the wheel thumps because of a heavy spot. i would have them check the balance of your tires.
also, look for irregular wear on your tires. if there is a flat spot (from an extreme braking manouver perhaps) you would be able to see it. that would cause the thump, and probably isn't going to go away. once the tire is unevenly worn, it is almost impossible to adjust it to wear evenly again.

I can post whenever I want too. Better I should say it's normal? Don't start with me.
I sold my right? Get lost.
I still have the same knowledge I had before I sold it, and I'll still be here to help if I can.

"More Innovator BS."
It's intresting that you edited your message, much as I'm editing mine, from being a random sarcastic biting comment to a worth-reading message.
In what way is a lame person at a Dealership Audi's problem? You didn't even complain about AoA, you threw the issue to Audi. How is
that even close to where the blame lies?

You're just pissed that I bought a Japanese car.
You never had anything bad to say about me before. Interesting....
And I still loved my Audi. It was just time to move on.
I'll buy another when they get all the kinks out.

I had a bad wheel bearing on my A4...
...and the dealer said it was normal tire noise (which it obviously was not)! Never trust what the dealer says, if you think it's something else. In your case, I'd get a second opnion from a reputable tire dealer.
