dealer says they remove the engine when they replace clutches is this true?? TIA

Ask them to show you the factory documentation that shows that they need to remove the engine.

Default No, just disconn trans and slide back
It doesn't buy anything to remove the engine because the clutch assembly is accessible once the transmission is unbolted and slid back.

Default My ****ty dealer does that as SOP. They charged AoA for engine removal when they did my clutch
under warranty. They shouldn't have to do this - it is not necessary, but they get more $ for the job this way and it's more straightfoward for the tech. If it's out of pocket, doing that is BS.

They can bill Audi for it, but I doubt Audi will accept it.
