I'm not sure if I need advise or am just looking to vent, but my Stage 3 beauty may have just bought the farm. I am told by a very reputable shop that it needs an engine and turbo rebuild after a head gasket leak caused a sludgy mess in the engine. I love this car and want to keep it, but the pocket book says abort the spending mission. Here are some of the details:

Black 2001 with 90k
VAST stage 3 KO4 custom tune done at about 60k
VAST methanol injection
Piggies and vibrant cat back
Vogtland coil overs
Stasis rebuilt 6 speed
Stasis center diff
Enki RPM2 wheels with brand new Goodyear Asymmetric tires

The car is pretty clean but definately not perfect. Any thoughts on what I could get for the car as it sits? It runs but shouldn't really be driven hard or far. I was quoted $8k to rebuild and do a few upgrades to make it a happy car again (engine and turbos). WWAWD?

Is your car worth 8K to you? Could you replace it with something decent for 8K out of of pocket after selling car now?. These are questions that you need to ask yourself...

I would opt for rebuild at 90K miles.

I appreciate your response. Each day I wake up I have a different opinion on what to do, but I know I won't be able to get another car I enjoy as much as mine for anywhere near the $8k it will take to fix it.
