Default Deep Thoughts... it should be fun to read the comparos btw the RS6, New E55, & New M5

I just read the article on the new E55 in this months Car and Driver. Seemed pretty impressive, I particulary liked the rear end styling (quad exhaust looks mean as hell). Benz is really upping the ante with their cars recently. The introduction of the newly turbocharged V-12s in their line-up should set them above their peers, but as always I will be cheering for the S8. Anywho, I was bored............ And in retrospec, this wasnt a well organized or thought out post. oh well

Default Search for the german language video someone posted about a month ago. E55 and M5 stomped RS6 in

acceleration. They show the three lined up and drag racing all at the same time. The M5 woops the RS6, but the E55 crushes the M5. So the one with the auto trans is the fastest.

I also recall someone posting a British magazine article doing a comparison with the S-TypeR, RS6 and I think the M5 where they said the RS6 had the best brakes, but lost in all other categories.

Pretty sad stuff.

Default Was the old M5, the RS6 was actually a better handler then the rest and they couldn't drive to save

their lives. Looked/sounded like the forgot to turn off esp. 0-60 for the RS6 was like 5.5 for their test. Obviously they weren't doing something right.

Default Because the crash tests the US requires would have to be done w/both trannies in order to only sell

5% of the total cars with manuals.
