Default Detailing my car w/Zaino edited (more)

Am using the Zaino Bros. stuff for the first time, with spankin' new 100% cotton MADE IN THE USA towels, as specified. Plus I have their ZFX droplets so I can do multiple coats in a single day. Using Z5 and Z2.

I just finished the Z5 coat, and am letting the Z2 mixture set for a few minutes. For what it's worth thus far, I see no difference between Z5 and the Griot's Machine Polish #3. Both are shiny, remove fine scratches, and are pretty much swirl free. I use Griot's with a Porter/Cable buffer, but am applying the Zaino stuff by hand.

Taking off the Z2 now, and it looks very very good...extremely clear paint, mirror reflection, and nice feel. A lot work, but in my opinion this stuff by hand looks better than Griot's with buffer.

Default Zaino is a great protectant, but it won't polish the surface like a dedicated product and a PC7424.

If you have a good smooth surface to start with, you should have good results with Zaino, just don't use too much, that seems to be the #1 mistake.

Default If your paint isn't already in excellent condition, you might need to polish it with something like

Menzerna first.

Default the paint looks awesome, I used dish soap to take off the last coat of wax...

and I'm going to do a complete clay bar and wash before the wax process on saturday. BUT I do have some scratches in the clear coat on my new spoiler (THANK YOU UPS) that hopefully will be able to buff out. 2k2, you are the detailing masta

Default Zaino is great stuff, but takes SOOOO much time... I used it for two years and gave up...

Eventually my time was worth more to me than the shine.

Yup, gotcha. Car got out of body shop, so was polished and prepped for wax, then I clayed it anyway

Default Residue left on paint from too much (more)

Will not decrease the tensile strength of water and other objects like dust, allowing them to cling to the paint and not roll off.

2K2S4, I put 1.75 ounces in a bottle, mixed with ZFX, and applied to entire car. I now have 1.25 ounces left......so I'm thinking that's not overdoing it???

Man, this stuff lasts!
