Did all 2000 S4s get the aluminum uprights? Or was it a build/vin sequence type deal?

3-4lbs lighter per side according to Don Istook. Says the steel ones are stronger, though.

Default Seize? What seizes exactly? It's just a big hunk of Al.

Taking the other parts off it just requires a little heat or spray. No biggie.

Default Haha.. The Suspension bushing Sieze like nothing else.!!!

Piggie helped me cut the Arms out and hammer the bushings.

This was a serious PITA.

Next issue was that the Bushings where damaged.

Solution, Make the Sleves out of a Gall resistant stainless. The biggest pain, finding the angle of the wedge.

Here is an image of the nitronic sleves next to the steel ones.

This plus heaps of copper antiseize should prevent any seizing issues.

Default see my post above.

Not galvanic corosion.
over tighting was the problem.

be very carefull when cutting, look at the images in this post for help on where to cut.

if the sleve and ball pull out together, be very carefull not to damage the sleves.

Default Johnny's advice is good. Been there, done that...

In my opinion, cutting the control link off the ball and the pressing out the ball and sleeve as a single unit is the way to go. Then you just pop the ball off the sleeve in a press.

Default Do you have any more of those sleeves? ...

I repaired mine and put them back but if I have to take them apart again I'd like to replace them with these. They look really nice!!

Default I have one set ( for left or right side ) right now. More can be made if needed.

though it might take some time.
