Default discussion: Octane Boosters; make-ur-own race gas? OR snake oil - waste of money?

i'm curious if anyone knows how to calculate what increase in octane level you get with a bottle of 104 and a tank of 93?

i mean the website says "up to 5 points" but is that really true? Amsoil's version claims +7 points!?!?!

i found this store interesting. i didn't know there wer this many varieties/brands.

When you read the fine print it says 1 "point" equals 0.1 octane.

If my calculations are correct in an Audi S4 tank you would need about 11 gallons of 93 and 5 gallons of that to get 95 octane in your tank.

Big waste of money.

TRM, aren't you Eastern Pa? There are a ton of gas stations that sell race gas around here...
