Default Well, John, yes, Formula One cars do use air filters. However it is literally a completely different

animal from anything you would use on the street. In fact, because of the high secrecy level involved with Formula One engines (where nothing from power specs to RPM range is ever revealed or released), it would be impossible to fairly guess anything about the air filtration (size, shape, efficiency, etc... setup except for the brand some teams use.

Default BTW, I have seen older Formula One (vintage) cars run with anything from nothing

to ITG, etc... style filtration systems which just covered the induction systems. They have little or nothing in common with street setups though...
