Default Do I need an inline fuse/fuse holder if I am running a mechanical boost gauge?

I was thinking about simply connecting the wire to the 75x terminal w/out the fuse/fuseholder, would this be bad? Also, should there be a designated wire for group/power...or do I just choose one?

Also, my gauge install manual (autometer) calls for a teflon sealant to be used at the back of the gauge, is this necessary?

Nothing wrong with using 75x. Either way is fine.
