Do our batteries need a vent tube?
Had to replace the battery over the weekend. Third owner of car so unknown what stock looked like. Do I need the vent tube that came with the battery? The one I replaced didn't have it but there's no guaranty that it was done properly. Thanks!

It depends on the battery - pretty much any equivalent replacement you can get at Autozone etc. will have a vent. The hardware for the vent typically comes with the battery. On mine it comes from the top between the poles and runs behind the battery and downward.

ok, sounds like I need it then. The vent tube did come with the battery. I just didn't know if I needed to use it as the little pamphlet that came with it only mentioned Alfa's, BMW's and I think GM's; nothing about Audi's.
Thanks for the responses!

The tube on Allroad runs thru the same grommet the heat core coolant lines run thru and drops down somewhere into above the tranny area. The heater core tubes are located immediately on the driver's side of battery and are covered with silver thermal sleeve.
