i would compare it to a Novell Expert trying to on a Windows Network or vice versa
Each know what they are doing and probably very good at what they are trained for but the lack of experience in the other application is the drawback as they would have to consult people for answers. It's your call on that one.

yes it is. if you DIY, you have a vested interest in getting it right, and if something does go
wrong, you know exactly what you did.
IMO if you cant find a mechanic that knows these cars, a DIY with plenty of research beforehand and lots of digital pics of how things come apart along the way would be your best bet..

even then, i'd want the subie guy to read up on what some of the common install issues are
or maybe talk to someone thats done a bunch of 2.7 turbo swaps just to get a heads up on common issues.
