Default Ummm...

LA is probably not the best place to look for snow tires. I've live here for 32 years, and I've seen an inch of snow on the ground only once.

True -- but a lot of us head to the mountains quite often.

Default Yeah... but we usually just...

Quattro it with M+S Rated tires, or use a set of chains. (I've never used chains on an Audi though.)

Christian, you're welcome to my OEM A8 17s, but you'd have to pop for the snow rubber.

Default Be very careful using chains/cables on the S4...

...there really isn't enough clearance between the tires and the suspension components with the stock wheels/tires. I think in order to use chains, you'd have to downsize to 205-55-16's and then I believe you can only use them in the front.

Default That might work -- Do you know if A8's clear Stoptech 332's??

How much are you looking to get for them?

You can't use chains on an S4 -- and I only have my Sportech 18's. I would just rather get a second set of used 17's cheap and put some Dunlop M2's on em.

Let me know. Feel free to email or call me.

...and then ditch the P6000's and purchase some snow tires.

Default About chains...

Even with 205/55-16 snow tires, there is very little clearance for chains. It might work with cable chains (useless little suckers though they be) but conventional chains are still awfully close to those expensive and fragile suspension pieces. I have 16" Nokian snows for winter, and although I carry chains to satisfy CHP/Caltrans, I would never actually mount them up.

Audi has always advised in their owner's manuals that chains, if used, go only on the front wheels. I think the differentials would get very confused if they were on the back wheels.
