Does this sound right? - faulty O2 sensor - details inside TIA
So I changed my EGT sensor on Tuesday, and Wednesday the car just started acting up really bad and stalled out on the highway.
I took it to a mechanic as I had to end up getting it towed, and my friend is on vacation so I can't get to the VAG we bought.
I had to get my turbos upgraded after K03s bit the dust, and the mechanic said the O2 sensor was dirty with oil from the exhaust / blown turbos, after cleaning it, its running fine.
Is it possible since the EGT was now cleared and out of limp, the ECU was trying to use the O2 sensor, and since that was now screwed, it didn't know how to run proper meterics for the ECU to perform its duties?

my guess is MAF
generally bad O2 sensors do not stall the car. the ECU would try to adjust the fuel to a max limit, and then it gives up and goes open-loop. the max is still "reasonable".
two more hints that it is not an O2 sensor:
1) the car has trouble starting
2) car does not run well while cold (it takes a while for the O2 to come into the loop)
it would have been a good idea to replace the O2s during the turbo swap, because they are a pain to get to otherwise.

Actualy it does feel like a MAF problem too, I had it on my old car
but that was because of a CAI, and it died out. When I did my last VAG I didn't see any MAF codes though. Only EGT

ah - according to the mechanic, he said there were about 15 of them, but he was certain most of them
were just cause and effect of me trying to avoid the 18 wheeler and pushing the car even though it wanted to lay down on the side of the road.
The one that stood out was the O2 sensor which is why I asked the question.
Before I put in the EFT sensor there were no DTC's

Check to make sure the EGT is plugged in properly. Sounds like you also should replace the O2....
try unplugging the MAF and see if the car runs any different. Also, log the MAF if you can.

Could a bad o2 sensor short out the computer, causing alt. voltage to be 18.5V (@4000) and limp-home
