does using a fuel cleaner really help out the car?

AmsOil says not to use it...
But I think that's b/c it will shorten the oil's useful service life, and that would obviously be bad. I'd kind of like to run a bottle of Techron/RedLine cleaner myself, so I'm hoping others will post too...
In my previous car, I'd use a bottle of Techron every once in a while, and I still had lots of buildup. Go figure, probably like anything else, it works better in some cars than others.

I've used either Red Line or Techron for the last three oil changes- - - - ->
I haven't seen any obvious difference...but I have done formal testing...
No mileage improvments any the such..
