Tested out my car, 2001.5, by arming it up and then opening up the car door with the inside handle. Alarm goes off. I thought the whole idea behind removing the pin was to avoid the possibility of just unlocking it and having the alarm disabled.. which didn't happen with mine.

Anyone else with a later build date try that as well?

I'm guessing that you did this right (don't recall if it happened to me or not). Make sure alarm has kicked in - takes ~15 seconds (red **** light flashes slower or not at all).

Have you taken your door off yet ? You will see the obvious vulnerability of the door pin when you take your door cover off. When they steal the car the pliers are inside the door itself and that doesn't set off the interior motion detector. Then the door is unlocked and your car is gone. My car is 02/01 build...

eliminat the chane of lifting th pin from out side?

If the would be thief pops a hole in the door and graps the door pin from outside the door unlocks and the factory alarm disables.

No door pin no unlocking no stealing...
