Drivers side CV boot is fried (BWW). Do you guys replace just the boots,

Default can you tell from the pics how long its been torn? id hate to buy the boots, then take them off and

discover the joint needs to be replaced also...

i would prob have someone else do it... i like performing all my mods by myself, but i hate repairs

Default Mine just got replaced...

Under extended warranty as well. Front left and right ones both replaced.

Default I would replace the CV or just buy a rebuilt axle and swap it in

if you want to save yourself some work (raxles.com or raxle.com, can't remember).

Looking at the residue, it appears a good bit of grunge and grit has mixed with the CV grease that's sprayed everywhere. That tells me this has been like this for a while. Which means there is conceivably a lot of dirt in the joint, and potentially excess wear.

Default If you have the cash do that... otherwise I think you would be ok

Those are hardened steel bearings and races, not likely to wear too much from a little if any road dirt. I repacked mine on my old A4 and put another 30k on them before I sold the car.

3 other corners?
