drove the B6 S4 for the first time today
as a B5er, here are my observations:
-awesome! awesome! awesome!
-exhauast sounds nice with that mighty v8
-shifter is MUCH improved
-clutch is much lighter -- something I could use on my traffic-jam commute!
-seats are very supportive
-pulls, pulls, pulls!
-handling is better too
-overall, i think audi did a great job

I was mostly underwhelmed by the b6s4.
While yes, the exhaust sounds very nice, the body is stiffer, and the seats are impressive...
I hated the soft clutch, the power seemed low... I guess it just didn't seem like a lot of car for the 54k price tag...
When I think about other cars I could get for just a touch over 50k, the b6s4 came up short.
Thus, I'm still in my b5!

2nd - the only feature I was envious of was seat memory :-P
Nicer low-end torque but I really missed the mid-high end kick of the 2.7T.
Stage 2 (Stage 1 + decent exhaust note) is better than B6.
