Default Drive Train Slip

I have drive train slip at highway speeds when I floor the gas pedal. I would guess it's the clutch but the clutch appears to work fine starting out and shifting gears. The slippage appears to come from the middle of the car. I have noticed this periodically since I have owned the car, but its getting worst. Could it be some kind of clutch in the quatro system? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks

Update: The more I try to replicate the issue, it appears to be a misfire. At low to mid rpm's when I floor it happens. It appears to happen when its under load and I floor it. Otherwise it revs freely.

i am experiencing the same thing... thought it was my clutch at first also...

It started happening after i got my dp's and exhaust installed, and i think an o2 sensor (front drivers) broke in the process. got a code for o2 and random misfire, and since the clutch performs well, and only has that dip in the rpm at the same points as your experiencing, hoping its an easy fix with the o2 or coil pack or something... let me know if you find a fix..

Not sure how misfire can be mistaken as a clutch slipping. Misfire is not going to cause the rpms to climb while the MPH does not.

Have you checked your spark plugs?

clutch slip would cause rpm's to rise w/o speed increasing. sounds like it could be a miss. center diff is torsen therefore no clutches

It turned out to be a misfire cylinder 4. Bad ignition coil. I found a good article on misfire at: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...res?highlight=

Peak Eurosport in Wheat Ridge Colorado figured it out quickly. Great Shop!

Believe it or not, it did seem like my clutch was slipping!
