Dumb Question: Does gas antifreeze lower the octane level of the gas we put it in?
#2
Do you mean stuff like dry-gas? Because unless you are in Alaska gas won't freeze!
If you meant stuff like dry-gas, it may actually have a higher octane than pump gas since it is alcohol-based. However, if the tank has water in the bottom, the water will mix with the alcohol and run through the engine. This water mixture will have a lower energy value than pump gas, but compared to the size of the tank that water/alcohol mixture would be tiny. Overall I would say that when you add 8oz. of dry-gas to at least 1/2 tank of fuel that you would not notice any performance difference at all.
