E46 M3 lightweight vs. EVO VIII vs. S4Avant

Just came back from some test runs with my friend's EVO and M3. First of all for those who consern about public safety, it was not a public road, nor my backyard.... we made sure it was a safe as possible.
Cars:
- 2002 M3 6spd missing some weight (3280 lbs total without the driver) plus Borla exhaust.
- 2004 EVO VIII 5 spd, with EVC set at about 20 lbs, full exhaust, HKS air intake
- 2001 S4 Avant 6 spd, MTM stage 2+
In total we did about 6 runs, most in second gear from 40 to abt 120. There was no real cooldown time between the runs, so it was kinda back to back...
Well, average result as per picture...
In a first run, me and M3 were nearly even with Evo constantly misshifting, second and other runs I was about 2 cars behind by 120. I guess heat soak was a problem as some time ago in a spring I was gaining on him a little. However, back then M3 was stock too. Most of us would agree that in the winter our cars feels much faster. Also, let me use my slipping clutch excuse, an issue which was evidend mostly between hard shift.
Once EVO driver sorted out "shifting problem", in the last 2 runs, that little beast start gaining on us particularly end of third and fourth gear. Evo got some noticable turbo lug and is not as fun to drive as M3 or my Avant, still a very impressive car for $$$ invested.
Once out of midrange RPM's, my car would loose everything it gained - a well know effect of MTM software reducing boost after 5000 rpm. Early shifting would not help the situation.
Despite not being the first, I was quite comfortable with results. Top end power was not my priority and our of 3 cars, Avant is most stelthiest, versatile and luxurious performer
Anyway, it was a lot of fun on Sunday evening.
Our next dyno session is in late fall after my RS4 clutch installation...

No, but said it wasn't as much fun to drive, it was just a question.
And my BMW definitely doesn't win at everything. Hell, it doesn't even have all it's windows right now.
