he saw me pull in the parking lot(no BlingBling on mine either). Says he finally dumped his M3, went on describing that it was a good performer but that he had many issues(none mechanical - mostly poor build quality) and commented how much better his previous 330i was in comparison.

He dumped the M3 for a new Tahoe and said he'd be looking at another German car later in life... possibly a 4.2 A6.

Not everybody is a car person...and even some car people/M3 owners refuse to believe that the S4 is a contender, even if it can beat an M3 between stoplights. But honestly, what does it really matter? Why should we need to prove anything? Why should be need the acknowledgement from them? I dunno...I'm just happy to have a great car...for all purposes, my dream car. It makes ME happy...screw what anybody else thinks!

Being on this board lets you forget that quite a large number of people have no idea what an s4 is.
I can't count the number of times I hear "nice car", "cool ride" etc. followed by "what is it?" I say, "it's an s4." Then I get "who makes that?"

Stopping in for breakfast, parked next to a new A8. Told them I might "consider a trade for their car" - they had no idea whatsoever what I was driving. No kidding. Maybe just didn't recognize the color. Not!
