i am looking to install a short shifter on my b5 s4 and am torn between shifters. i would really like the toyguy or the uuc but these seem to be out of production. from what i read the ebay shifters is the best bang for the buck. ppl at audizine seem to love them. they seem to be b and m replicas and i have always used b and m for my older muscle cars and liked them. this is definately the most cost effective option. i cant stomach to spend 270 on a shifter no matter how good it is the money could go so many better places. what do you guys think? any experiences with them? i hear if you install them right they are worth the 40 dollars...

I have the ebay short shifter and it works well for the money. It does not replace the ball in the shifter as the JHM short shifter does. The ebay shifter does its' job and I have never had problems with it because I did a small modification. It is really easy to make this shifter just as smooth as the others. You will be able to tell where the blue linkage connects with the actual shifter there is a little play if you try to wiggle it back and forth. When installed in the car it is more obvious so you want to take care of it before you put it in. I just got some perfect sized washers to take up some room and get rid of the play. Hope this helps.

I went with a stratmosphere myself and other than being a bit of a pain to install, I love it. The shifts are much shorter and crisp. Reminds me almost of my s2000. Well worth the $175 I paid. Just my $.02

i have a uuc shifter for 2000-2001 with old style shifter id be willing to sell if youre interested. will not work on 2001.5-2002 with new style shifter though.

where can you buy the stratmosphere for 175? i thnk i have the old style cause its a 2000. i can only find the old for 275....

Wow I guess prices went up. I was able to purchase through a company in AZ, I can't remember the name. The shifter came shipped direct from stratmosphere. I definitely didn't pay $275 for mine, maybe $200 or $225 but I seem to remember $175.
