Eibach PK owners - springs only. Truth, how is the ride?
This debate never seems to end. I am about to purchase my suspension (01 Avant) and if I can save money and just get the springs great.
But, I keep hearing two different stories. Yes, the ride is fine with the stock shocks. No, the stock shocks won't last and you'll hate the ride - get the full set-up.
So, let me know please.
p.s. anyone in SoCal want to give me a ride in their set-up. Either Eibach PK, springs only or Intrax/Koni.............?
Thanks.

Re: Eibach PK owners - springs only. Truth, how is the ride?
I am currently running the Eibach pro kit setup with stock shocks and feel that the ride is similar to stock. The only difference is that the car sits 1inch closer to the ground. I've been warned that my stock shocks are going to blow but I've had this setup for the past 20,000 miles and I've had no problems.

My experiences after a few months...
At first, the ride was AWESOME. it was firmer than stock and rode very nicely, but stayed very flat in the twisties. i was seriously impressed. after a few months, i started noticing the ride getting harsher and harsher. after a while, the car became very floaty and now it is clear to me that the stock shocks were not up to the job. the car still stays flat in the turns and has very good handling, but when i go over big bumps the car bounces and floats.
I am now looking at a coilover solution... possibly H&R and possibly Bilstein of they ever come out with their S4 set. I wish i had done spring AND shocks or coilovers to begin with. it would have saved me a lot of trouble. I wanted to save money so i thought i could get by with just springs.
the car still looks bad-*** even though the shocks are dead!
