Here's the info...
You can get the springs at Tire Rack for $227. The Bilsteins were $484 at www.shox.com (might be more for the S4). Konis (I used to have these) cost a bit more than the Bilsteins (usually). I paid $400 for install, including alignment at a local Denver tire store.
I'm now contemplating getting H&R coilovers, depending on how long I keep my car (I may order a 2001 A4 Avant next spring).
The best advice is to try and drive or ride in cars with different setups, to see what suits your taste and driving needs. HTH & good luck!
