Default Electrical Problems, car is 2 days old!!

Got the car 2 days ago, Love it!!! It hauls ***!! And as others have said, it is surprisingly smooth, quiet and comfortable for having such a beast lurking from within! I cant' wait to get past the breakin period and really see what it can do.

Here's the bad news though. I have had both rear tail lights burn out on me. It happened at seperate times, the first one went and the indicator on the computer came up with a bulb and a line drawn through it, the said "brake light". I checked the brake lights and the Left one was burned out. The next day, somebody behind me warned me that all the rear taillights were out. I confirmed that now both brake lights were burned out. I'm taking it to the dealer tomorrow AM. Anyone else have this problem? I had a V1 Radar detector hardwired to the fuse box, could they have screwed something up?

Default Get the radr detector out of there before you go to the dealer. They will attribute the problem...

to that guaranteed. Sounds like you may have a grounding problem. Can't imagine that both would blow out in the first two weeks. You can get one of the power meters and check the surge to rear lights with and without the detector wired. That might tell you if your getting extra surges to the tail lights.

Unlikely it's the radar detector, over-voltage from the alternator would be my first guess.
