Engine light came on yesterday night (GIAC)... need advice!

Like I said, almost the same exact scenerio happend to me and it turned out to be the GIAC.
Vijay then made a comment about GIAC having problems, ("The number of problems reported with GIAC just keeps growing"). I then thought of the chip shootout which stated that GIAC was the only chip that set off codes.
You have your opinion of the problem (CEL), and I have mine. You could be right, but we won't know for sure. At least now Phil has 2 things he could check out.
Connection:
Phil states his problem,
Vijay makes GIAC comment,
I had same problem as Phil, and turned out to be GIAC,
I agree with Vijay and provide an article of a non-bias chip shootout in which they also had problems.

I definitely see how that is offensive, and I only agreed with...
the comment in the subject line, not the message. I should have clearified that earlier.
I understand you are an authorized dealer of GIAC and you stand by your product. I don't blame you one bit for your defense.
As I said earlier, there are many people happy with GIAC, and I hope to one day be one too.
Have a good night.

Welcome to the wonderful world of GIAC! I can think of more GIAC chip failures with GIAC than ALL of
the other chip manufacturers combined.
Usually it's a car that will not restrat, but your case is also common.
99% of the time it's the chip popping out of the socket or at least losing contact with the socket is some way.
If you search the archive effectively, I would bet you could find over 75 failures since the inception of GIAC's S4 chips, vs less than 10 for all other manufacturers combined.

Nice try, Jeff. I'm a photographer & do not work at a tuner. But you do & you sell GIAC
My statements can be confirmed as fact through a basic search of AW.
I have never, ever worked in the tuning business.
