Default Engine stumble

Hi folks,

hoping someone can give me some suggestions on what to try/look for

I've got a stock 2000 S4 that over the last couple of days has started to ocassionally "stumble". It starts and idles ok but when driving at on motorway it will ocassionally "miss a beat" - i'm afraid that's the best way i can describe it.

A work colleague brought his copy of vag-com in and read out the faults

5 Faults Found:
17535 - Fuel Trim; Bank 1 (Mult): System too Rich
P1127 - 35-00 - -
17537 - Fuel Trim; Bank 2 (Mult): System too Rich
P1129 - 35-00 - -
16487 - Mass Air Flow Sensor (G70): Signal too High
P0103 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
17535 - Fuel Trim; Bank 1 (Mult): System too Rich
P1127 - 35-00 - -
17537 - Fuel Trim; Bank 2 (Mult): System too Rich
P1129 - 35-00 - -

Looking at this i'd guess that maybe the MAF has had it, but i'm no expert by any means.

Because of the age of the car i'm not inclined to go to a dealer if i can sort this out myself but i'd like some second opinions before diving in.

Also do you guys think i'd risk damaging anything by still driving the car until the weekend?

thanks in advance for any suggestions/advice...
Sledge

What effect will that have ?If i unplug the MAF won't that make it try to lean the engine out to the point where it might damage it? or is there some kind of fail-safe built-in?

cheers

Default Some of the early domestic FI cars ran on only speed density and it worked OK. Nice to have that

built in as a failsafe mode.
