Engine swap vs parting out = good or bad idea?

Engine swap vs parting out = good or bad idea?
It seems there are always Stg III guys looking to go back to stock for sales...etc and other guys looking to go up. It seems like it would be a logical choice to arrange an engine swap or is the labor just not worth it? It seems like it would save both parties some money if a fair deal could be struck. I know I would consider it if the price was right. Thoughts?

I was thinking Chevy 350...
...OK one more time.
Stock S4 Motor + cash for Stage III.
Situation would be for somebody selling their car (Stage III) and no way in hell to recoupe expenses but this would soften the blow a bit. Parting out seems unrealistic especially with the turbos and someone would get a Stage III for a decent price and could actually drive the car first. My main question: Is the labor of the engine swap too expensive to make it worthwhile.
