Default Error Code 17579... service rant!!!

Have had my EPC light come on after 30-40 min FUN drive with my X-chip, each time I redo the throttle body adaption with the key at power-on position, EPC light goes away for another while. Until next time. It has come back on for at least 4 times in the past 2 days. And that's the DTC I pulled out with VAGcom.

So, this morning, I brought my car into service, expecting them to find that and fix it under warranty. Turned out they charged me $75 for diagnosis (like I need that after I've scanned it w/ vag) and $6 for work order (to reset the codes and all).

I'm so pissed off now. Althought they've been good to me, (turbo replacement under warranty knowing all my mods), still, the tech couldn't find the problem, and just told me to leave the stock ECU alone for 1 weekend.

That's fine I guess.

But, I thought Ferris-the-guru mentioned it could be bad throttle body or something. When I went into service morning, was expecting them to actually replace that thing for me. Turned out the other way~ what da hell am I supposed to do? just wait and see if error codes comes back on with stock ECU? or?

GRRRR..... $81 wasted~

HOWEVER, service guy told me if it comes back on and they have to replace the throttle body, they'll reimburse me.

Yeah, sounds like throttle angle sensors.

Default I think it's a replacement item. Bentley says not to open the throttle control valve...

which is where it says the sensors are located.
