Exterior color poll: what color should I paint my car?
Well after months of nail-biting, I finally decided to keep my car...
and by keeping my car I mean modding more than hell out of it.
Im pretty certain ill be doing a widebody conversion (maybe a touch wider than the RS6), new wheels (9-9.5" wide :P ) bigger turbo kit as well as some other goodies, installing my sparco seats that have been in storage for over a year and getting that damned stage III SPEC P.O.S. clutch out of there. some interior work (installing a couple 52 mm gauges on the pillar), a light audio treatment and a screen in teh front dash...and oh yea, i'll be re-painting the exterior.
my initial thoughts were going factory black...then i thought about it...why not go for something else that no one has.
ideas:
BMW M5 dark gray color
Porsche atlas grey metallic
a custom black with bronze/gold flecks? (just an idea)
I always liked the color of teh dark gray M5...but what do you guys think? suggestions?

Why not, because unless your going to pull the interior, all of it
pull the engine and all trunk carpeting, the paint job will be subpar.
If you really want to paint it, paint it along the same colors, if there is a pearl black that you like or just redo it in the original black.
Seriously repainting an entire car a different color is not a cake walk and many shops if allowed would cut corners..

I've always been a fan of Volcano Black....but keeping the factory color would be best.
Like Milpitas2.7T said....unless you dump major bucks and completely strip the car down for a re-spray, it won't come out decent. Especialy if you're going to go with a totaly different color like a shade of grey.
PLEASE keep us up to date on the progress! I've always wondered how an A6 2.7t would look all hooked up

There is a Dodge Viper color that looks like regular black, but it has the slightest hint of DARK
blue. The thing looks solid black even in the day time, but when the sun hits the curves of the car you see the faintest bit of blue... It's truely a sick color.
