But they start with 90 bhp at the crank...that Rabbit/Golf didnt have anywhere near 90 bhp

The engine will be going in my 81 rabbit truck for now until my 78 rabbit gets stripped and track ready. Going mechanical lifters too, hoping to get around 150hp on 91 octane.
