Ferrari 328 or S4

Ferrari 328 or S4
As I sit here waiting for Audi to begin taking orders on the Avant, I wonder about my choice. This car purchase is going to be a third car. Its mission, simply put, is to entertain me. I already have a car I commute in. There is no way I would run something like this to where I work. So my unfortunate dilema is to decide which will entertain me the most.
In terms of performance, acceleration, handling, and braking. The Audi and Ferrari appear to be equals, at least on paper. Although a chip would take care of that.
Appearance wise, both cars look fabulous from the outside, but it is hard to compare because of the different missions. Both are beautiful. It is awfully hard to resist the appeal of a small red two seater.
However, on the interior, the Audi wins hands down. I don't think any car can compare here.
Features, once again Audi has it. It is packed full of them.
Once again, my mission is entertainment. It is awfully hard to be entertained by the Ferrari when I want to pack up my mountain bike for a ride, as it will be left in the garage. Ditto if I want to travel anywhere with my family.
So can you tell me, what was it that made you decide on the S4 and what else were you comparing to.
If you sold an S4, why and what did you get (matthewk, please respond, thanks)?
I am almost certain that I will get the S4, but it would be nice to have the reassurance before I did.
Thanks all for your feedback.

you want an amuzing, fast car? your going to need a race track though
well if your interested in doing some mods i got some good ideas..
RX7 ( the newest one) upgrade the turbos, intercoolers, and a few other things and you are set.. 650 hp max..
supra twin turbo.. like before. do the whole turbo thing and you can be up to 650hp ..
twin turbo nissan 300zx.. also upgrade the turbos, intake, intercoolers.. the stuff you would basically do to an S4.. you can get up to 650 hp with this thing also..
** to sum it up any of these cars can be made into ridiculousy fun and fast cars.. not only can you make them into great handlers but you will blow the doors off of basically everything you pass on the highway or streets.. if your interested id be happy in helping you gather information.. just give me an email.. good luck..
John

well...on a pragmatic note...ITALIAN CAR (i.e. expensive and difficult repairs all the time)..
even the Audi is more reliable than a Ferrari

I actually have the RX-7 and 300Z on my list. They would have the same drawbacks as the Ferrari in that they would be sitting in the garage more often. Has your S$ ever failed to entertain?

Apples and Oranges (or Reds?) ....
The 328 (or 308 for that matter) is a lovely, but dated 2 seat Italian sports car, without the technological sophistication, build quality, etc. of the S4. To many, that's the appeal of the car. If you must have a Ferrari, do it. You can find beautiful examples of each if you look hard -although the GTBs (coupes) are rarer (and prettier to me, but it's a matter of taste). The 4 valve engines are best (Quattrovalvoles - no relation to Audi Quattro!), although many like the early carburated 308s. All depends what you're looking for. I have an S4 on order - I would love a Ferrari, but honestly, it's impractical for me. If I were to seriously want a sports car (defined as a 2 seater), I'd likely go for the Boxster, but again, if you must have a Ferrari, the 328s are great and not terribly expensive. Good luck!!
