First day with my S4 and it's snowing! Boo! (some first impressions)
Damn Boston weather. Is it ever going to be spring?
Anyway, some first impressions:
1. Keeping this car under 4k rpms for the break-in period is no tragedy. It is still considerably faster than the 1998 A4 1.8t that I turned in last night.
2. Turbo lag is just a little bit longer than in the 1.8t. I guess that is because there is two of them.
3. I love how you can feel the available torque the second that the car is in gear. It WANTS to be driven.
4. They need to pave Washington Street. This stiffer suspension and low profile tires were not meant for some of Boston's local roads.
5. Sometimes the car seems to want to steer itself. Is this normal? Is it a product of the wider tires than I am used?
6. Blue Alcantara looks really cool, and turns a lot of heads in parking lots.
7. Reverse is NOT to the right and down, that is sixth. I must repeat this over and over in my head.
8. Xenons are pretty cool too.
More impressions to come. Road trip to NY this weekend.

Looking outside my college window in NYC right now, the sun is out overlooking central park. Can't wait to get home and go for a nice drive.

haha! i thought the same thing on my drive to work this morning.

i have noticed the same thing and would be interested to hear any theories on it.

i've done that twice so far--it gets you through the break-in period faster. watch out when entering the lincoln tunnel from the jersey side--i got a flat tire from a pot hole 2 or so weeks ago.
welcome to the wonderful world of s4 ownership!

I experience the same thing from the ruts on Rt2 and 128. It certainly makes for some interesting driving...

hehe...making the same trip this weekend in my brilliant black s4
and yes...potholes in the boston area are huge...and 93/128 does have grooved pavement...its like getting caught in someone elses tracks when ice skating is the best i can describe it...shouldn't steer itself on a nice flat road....also...watch out for the huge potholes on I-95 in Conneticut!! Stay out of the left lane if you can!!

I think it's my fault. The last snow we had was about 4 days after I put my summer tires back on
after driving on snows all winter. This snow is exactly 4 days after I switched my stock rims for wider profile rims & tires. I think I'm done with tire switches for the season so this should be the last snow 'till winter
Congrats on the new car. You should come out to some of the local meetings and meet your fellow road warriors.
