Default First time down the 1/4 with my 6 speed S today

Just to catch everyone up I sold my 2000 tiptronic S4 this spring to get a 2000 6-speed S4. My tip car was stage 2 and had the fastest tiptronic time on s4biturbo.com of 13.373/104.06mph.

Well today I got a chance to take my 6-speed car down the 1/4 mile before they close up for the season. I ran the car with full weight and about 5 gal of race gas in it. Best pass of 13.537/104.83mph. My 60' times sucked with a 2.092 on that pass. The track was super cold. Temp was only reading 34 degrees in the car when i made that pass. I guess I'm alittle disappointed I couldn't beat the tiptronics time, but i was at full weight and cold track. Defiantly will beat those times in the spring. I have some things in the works for the car this winter.

Default Nice times. Is there a noticeable difference between your six speed and your old tip

from a roll? Just wondering thanks.

Default Good stuff Chris - At least you got a higher trap speed so it's definitely got a better time in it..

anything else interesting go down today? Sorry I missed out. I might head up tomorrow.

Default not criticizing your driving, just curious...

You said you were stage 2 on the tip and now you are stage2+ (downpipes)? I would think your times may have been a little quicker than the tiptronic. I guess the tiptronic run was ideal track conditions? You mentioned your 60' which was a little high (2.0) i guess that was because of wheel spin because the track was cold, not bog right? What rpm did you launch at?

I have stage2 6speed, i launch at 3700 on the way up to 4K and my best time is 13.2 with a 1.8 60', don't remember my trap. I cant wait for downpipes

Default The six speed car feels much faster especially from a roll

I think the biggest thing is at the track its more driver error with the standard car then a tip. With the TIP you just put it in "D" and gas it.
