Default Fog Lights - Cheap Replacement

Don't be dupped into buying fog light replacements for $188, just do the hack job and buy a sheet of plexi glass and some silicone. The grill on your bumper will cover all the unsighlty edges... Pictures to come.

Interesting... might have to give that a shot. Been too lazy/cheap to replace my cracked one.

Default Someone did a test and saw no difference with and without fogs...

I still have stock ICs too, so my cooling is far from ideal. Have some RS4 ICs on the way though!

I've thought about ditching the fogs and throwing on a set of the Canadian grills, but I haven't actually gotten around to doing it.

DonP shows an improvement without fogs in the tech section, FWIW.

Yeah. I usually take 'em out at the drag strip, but I kinda like 'em for the street.

Default Finding the affect of fogs on IAT's was not the purpose of that test. (m)

People who remove their fog lights based on that test are failing to understand what was being tested. DonP was trying to find the difference in IAT between normal conditions and when the car was being pushed hard. He took a single temperature reading after a series of hard runs with fog lights and a single reading without the fog lights.

I was heading down the path of removing the fog lights when I decided to do a more thorough test. My test results haven't received the exposure of DonP's Tech article, which is too bad since my test did not show any significant difference between the two. My sig links to my web site, where the test is posted. "Test Results - Canadian Grill Test".

Until somebody posts a good test that contradicts what I found, I wouldn't suggest anybody remove their fog lights if they are trying to improve their IAT's.

Your tests were the ones I was referring to.
