found an S4. Advice needed.
I found a 2000 S4 w/ 33k miles .. still under warrenty till November. The car is in mint condition w/ ALL records since new and its been dealer maintained. Car has a Short shift kit and a GIAC chip. Guy wants 23.5k for it.
car is silver w/ cream seats and black interior.
What do you guys think? I would rather wait and hope to find something like this next year when my credit is good (i have zero to no credit ) but i don't want to let something like this pass me by. Your advice?

Re: I would probably pass on it...
what chip is a good chip to be running w/o having to worry about it? Also forgot to add ... he just did the 40k mile tune up on it.

Pass..
not sure you want to buy a chipped car no matter who the chip is made by. No matter what, the turbos are putting out more boost than from the factory and are not going to wear as expected.
Also, just in case this is not the color combination you want, i would definetly suggest being patient until exactly what youre looking for comes up. Its pays off in the end.

there really is no chip that is good for the turbos - and as for the color
i wanted nogaro with blue acantara - i got the silver leather when i found a good deal - now im gonna eat 500 beans or so to swap out my interior for the ones i want.
dam it!!

I think it depends on when it was chipped. If recently, then I don't see a problem..
Of couse you may not get an honest answer to that question, but you should be able to figure it out based on the software version.
