Default Gas milage at cold temps?

Is it normal for the S4's milage to drop when it gets cold? This recent cold snap of 12F highs and 6F lows has made me warm up the car in the morning for a few, and a couple in the evening. Woudl just the cold temps and the warm-ups give me crappy mileage? (haven't filled up again yet, but noticed just above half and only 99 miles!! Ouch!

It might be the fuel gauge sending unit in your car going bad.

Default I get about 5-8% better winter gas mileage than summer...

...I attribute it to (1) the greater ineffeciency of our turbo motors in hot weather and (2) turning off the air conditioner compressor a part of the time.

Default Not that cold, but power has been unreal...

I'm thinking that x-chip does not do the normal temperature compensation one would expect from the stock chip.

On Monday, with temps at 43F and a cold light rain (good for the intercoolers), the car was a monster. During a 100 mile highway road trip, I checked several times that I wasn't in 4th gear.

An idleing engine uses almost as much gas as a moving engine!

Default gas companies change the ingredients in the gas depending on the weather.

it's to make the gas stable at different temperatures.
