Default Gas prices at $4-5 gal in Indianapolis

Some consumers suggested gas station owners were taking advantage of a bad situation. The American Petroleum Institute (API), representing the petroleum industry, echoed that thought.

"There is a substantial amount of gas available in all parts of the United States," said Chris Kelley, API spokesman, adding that the increase in gas prices is an issue that needs to be dealt with by local authorities.

CNN article on skyrocketing gasoline prices

Default That's crazy...here in Nor Cal...gas prices haven't even moved! I know in Chicago, lines are long..

not sure why though...I went last night to get a full tank just in case but everything seems normal here. My aunt called last night and said in Naperville, some stations were actually running out of gas! And lines were up to like 20 cars deep!

this really sucks!

Default same in Socal...no lines, no high prices

hey, for once California isn't getting gouged relative to the rest of the country!

The gouging gas station owners should be rounded up and added to "the list". They are enemies of the state...

Default Watch out for spreading rumors

That was only at a couple of stations, a local reporter went up and yelled at the people in line that the other stations nearby were selling for $1.50 ~ $1.80 gal. State Attorney General threatened lawsuit and the prices came down. Filled up 3 cars last nite at $1.49 reg, $1.69 for 93 oct and no line. This too will pass.

Default Anyone else find it shocking that there haven't been any photos of high prices?

Sound like an "Urban Legend" to anyone? Sure does to me...

Default Word is that anyone who tries to gouge the customer by taking advantage of the situation...

will be fined and possibly shhut down. Any stations caught inflating prices have been instructed to lower them back down to where they were immediately or suffer the consequences. Can't believe that the ****ty little gas stations would do that at a time like this. Utter BS and it disgusts me!
