Default Going XM...A few questions for that have it- - >

Did a search of the archives as I decide where and how to mount the XM Roady2...

Saw one reference to the Valentine One picking up interference from XM, or vice versus...? I planned to mount the ultra small antenna on the back of the interior rear view mirror.

I was going to install using the hard wire kit...I believe it will access a particular station using an FM modulator..Isn't there also a Blitz Safe option? If so, is it worth it? I have my iPod installed through the CDC and would just as soon leave it installed...

Planning on mounting the Roady unit in the ash tray and access it using the IR remote control when I need to use the upper funtion buttons..the preset buttons can be reached with no worry...

Any suggestions?

Default Re: Going XM...A few questions for that have it- - >

I have had no issues with the V1 and XM, I cant imagine why there would be an issue, V1 and XM in at least 3 of my cars. I do however have my antenna mounted inside the rear window in on the rear deck.

I have the Blitzsafe adapter through the CDC, I would assume an A/B swich would be needed for use with your IPOD.

I dont use my roady in the S4, have the XM commander so I cant comment on the ashtray.

Good luck and enjoy!

Default That is funny -

I just bought the NAV+, I am ordering a ME3 and a Motorola Bluetooth kit, I am thinking about getting the XM commander too.

Where are you in NJ? Do you reccomend this stuff before I order? Any thoughts? I am shying away fromt he XM commander because of the LCD color, but I do not see an alternative that is nice and small like that...

Default Blitzsafe makes 2 Audi to RCA adapter. 1 plugs in the trunk, the other plugs in back of radio

Yes it is worth it. I just got the Audi to XM Commander adapter and it sounuds great. I have the ashtray out now and will mount the commander there when I get some time. I may try your IR remote idea and hide the unit.

Default The Roady2 has a red that is close to the Dash color- - ->

not perfect, but very close...it is a reverse scheme...the background red matches the dash, and the text is a slightly different (darker), where as the dash is a darker red background with the more pronounced letters..

Default The costs are nuts, ranging from expensive to offensive

From Ebay.de you can get them for as low as $700 after the exchange rate. I did not want to do that, seems risky. You can find them used on ebay.com for anywhere from $750 to $1000ish depending on which model and condition. You can get them from nav-plus.com for $1400. Or you can bring a jar o KY to the dealer and spend over $2200!
