So they replaced my pump on Monday and about 5 miles away from the dealer the CEL comes on. I call them on Tueday morning and they say bring it back and they'll look at it. So I take it back and they say it was a loose wire on the cam position sensor so they reconnected it and everything should be all good. Well, this morning my CEL comes back again so now it's back at the dealer. I also noticed that there is a very high pitched whine coming from the engine bay after I start the car. It sounds similar to the noise that you hear when you do the throttle body adaptation after replacing your ECU. Anybody know what could be going on here? I think the tech forgot to connect or put back some parts when they took it apart to do the pump replacement.

Not sure what they could have done that would cause the pump to run continuously (which might be the case since you claim to hear the whine as soon as you start the car).

So it's possible that they fvcked up the wiring to the pump. Would that throw a CEL?

Well it's back at the dealer now. I hope they figure it out because I don't want to go back.

Ask them to document the code they pulled on your service receipt.
