Default Graphite wheel option

Apparently I checked the "optional extra brake dust" box on the S4 purchase order. I've had the car a week and the roundy-roundies are BLACK. Anyone use a Kleen-Wheels type product, or do you just wash the bananas out of it?
Robert

Just wash 'em frequently....the Avus wheels are a bit laborious to clean, too

Keep 'em waxed....dirt washes off easily.

Default Fast clean tip...

I use a foam ended bottle brush to clean the inside of the wheels. It is a series of foam bristles resembling a bad Afro (sorry) and has a 12" handle. Get it at the grocery store for $2. It is important to get the INSIDE or it will just redistribute to the outside.

Keeping brake dust to a minimum is also an important part of keeping your brakes squeal free. Built up brake dust in the rotor pours and on caliper components is one cause of brake vibration (squeal).

Default Get yourself one of these....

....picked one up at the local Pep Boys but you can also purchase them online (Car Care Specialties carries them). It's manufactured by a company called Detailer's Choice. Works like a charm to get into the inner surface of rims in between the spokes.

Default But they're nowhere near as hard as my wife's A4 sport wheels!

10 spokes...oh what a nightmare.
