GSX-R 1000: 1 MTM stg4: 0 but...
Okay when I see someone claiming a race with a bike I say BS. But here's what went down and you make your own judgement.
Cruising on the highway on nice cool 50deg Florida evening and notice bike headlights approaching from the rear fairly quickly. He sweeps by me and through the traffic ahead in a flash. Now when I saw him coming up, I was thinking, I might get a chance to play but just as I was thinking that I notice the traffic ahead was not going to allow that and before I could even make a move he was through the traffic and gone : ( I've been chomping at the bit to play with someone for months and never had a safe opportunity and now I miss out again.
Well, as I take my exit some 5 miles later, low and behold is the same bike stopped at the light. We are getting onto another highway with free and clear roads ahead. I'm behind him and the light turns green, I ride him pretty close to see if he bites : ) By the end of 2nd gear he turns his head to look, then moves over to right hand lane. By this time I'm in 3rd gear in a nice 4000 rpm range coasting up next to him when he lets loose. Jumps ahead about 2 cars length and from there we remained locked until the top of 5th gear. He may of inched another car length by the end of 5th but we are pretty much locked. We gather our senses and slow down. We take next exit and I roll down the window as I cruise up next to him.
GSX-R: "YOU'RE F!$%ING FAST !!"
MTM stg4: [Just smiling]
GSX-R: "What is that ?"
MTM stg4: "Twin turbo V6 [still smiling]"
GSX-R: "STOCK ?"
MTM stg4: "No [can't wipe away smile]"
GSX-R: [pointing at his bike and shaking his head]"THIS IS A 1000?!!"
MTM stg4: (suprised I actually thought it was a 600) "I knew I couldn't hang but I really don't have anyone to play with"
GSX-R: [giving thumbs up]"Very impressive dude, keep it save" [takes-off]
Very fun stuff and the adrenaline is still pumping through me.

great story... but off the line, the bike would dissapear...
you must have a damn fast car.

after seeing a 600 pull away from a 650 whp cobra I find that hard to believe
considering a 1000 can run a 10 second pass, and from a roll he has an even greater advantage.....you do the math.
