Default Gumball 3000 - Dallas update

The Gumballers reached Dallas earlier this evening. A friend and I drove about 100 miles out of the city and met up with the APR car and Zerin's car and drove in with them, along with another black S4, and a black testarossa.

There were cops everywhere... they must have known what was coming because on the drive out from Dallas we saw about 10-15 cops sitting on the side of the road just waiting for the gumballers. And then on the drive back in, they had several folks pulled over, including the Playboy SUV - needless to say, they got away with just a warning.

The whole crew stopped at the Crescent Hotel in downtown Dallas, where the parking lot looked like an exotic car dealership. Tons of Ferraris, tons of Porsches (including a Ruf R-Turbo), 2 RS4s, etc etc...

Funniest story of the day was one of the last cars to pull into the hotel parking lot was a red Modena with a Dallas cop on his tail with lights and siren going. Apparently the cop had tried to pull him over a ways back and he just kept on going to the hotel. The cop had a sense of humor though and ended up letting him go scot free (after chatting with the crowd for a while).

Don't know if the F50 driver got so lucky... the rumor was that he got pulled over in Arkansas for doing 187mph. Didn't see him at the hotel.

Sounds like a few of our S4 brethren had some run-ins with the law as well, but I'll let them tell their own story (or not as they see fit). Nothing major, just a few fines here and there.

Overall, the whole thing seems like one big crazy party. A bunch of europeans with tons of cash who really don't give a **** about getting ticketed. Lots of hot cars, hot women and money. I'm definitely signing up next year :-)

I'll post all my pics later on when I get them up on a server, but here's a few teasers:

The APR S4 on the road:

Nogaro RS4 with right-hand drive and the 500+ HP MTM setup:

The 360 arriving at the hotel with "police escort":

Default I gotta ask: How do you stop an F50 doing 187mph?

Most choppers won't even go that fast.

Now I gotta ask: Would YOU put up a road block infront of a 200mph missile?

Default Nice touch of the FDNY/NYPD sticker on the RS4. Might as well try all the angles :-)

I gotta tell you, despite the overwhelming logic that says there is no way this should be done with a U.S. license, I'd be willing to run it with my U.K and Indian D.L.

:-)

Hell hath no fury like a speed limited car!
